PJU network is made up of thousands of journalists who are making a difference through their work. Many have participated directly in our programs or received PJU awards, while others have worked with our partner networks.

PJU provides opportunities for journalists in our growing network to further highlight and deepen their skills, collaborate with Pakistani journalists and journalists across borders, build more sustainable news outlets and more.

Alhamdulillah today it consists of thousands of members from all over the world. Through such initiatives, we connect to build and develop the local and global journalism community.

Purpose and Function

Our core objectives that guide our work every day

  • Protect and promote the constitutional rights to information, freedom of expression, and independent media.
  • Maintain and promote a high standard of ethical behavior in the practice of journalism.
  • Foster a growing number of professionally trained journalists in the country.
  • Protect journalists from hazards such as threats, harassment, litigation, etc. from interest groups.
  • Support journalists who are seriously injured, permanently disabled, or killed in the line of duty through compensatory grants.
  • Promote interaction and exchange of ideas for the professional development of its members.
  • Collaborate with national and international organizations to advance the cause of journalism.
